About Pilates Moves

Pilates Move studioJennifer Mathews dreamed of having her own studio dedicated exclusively to Pilates, set in a beautiful and inviting atmosphere where the "classical method" is taught and experienced.

She brings her passion and strong desire for you to look better, feel better, and be better as you experience complete harmony of the mind and body.

Jennifer obtained her training through PEAK PILATES®, an internationally certified training program out of Boulder, Colorado. She has hundreds of hours of practice, observation, and teaching, which was what Joseph Pilates, the creator of the method, intended.

Jennifer invites you to give yourself the gift of experiencing the mind, body, and spirit connection that Pilates offers.

Jennifer MathewsAbout Jennifer

Jennifer grew up in the Simpsonville/Laurens area and has a lifetime of movement experience, including gymnastics, cheerleading, and aerobics. She has taught group fitness classes including high/low impact aerobics, step aerobics, and body sculpting. She has a group exercise certification from Lexington Medical Center and a step aerobics certification from the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America.

Jennifer started taking Pilates mat classes in 2005. She then began apparatus sessions and immediately became hooked. Experiencing the amazing results in her own body, she pursued professional training, first earning her Pilates Mat Certification through Powerhouse Pilates and then completing all three levels of the Peak PilateSystem™ Professional Certification.

"I have realized that my passion in life is to help people feel good about themselves and to help them attain physical wellness. Pilates has changed my life in such a positive way. I stand taller, feel stronger, and am more flexible, balanced, and coordinated. I want to share that with others. I feel my gift is compassion and understanding a person’s individual needs while motivated them to the get the most from their workout"
